Friends. Over the years I have had many friends. Now let’s start by saying that the word we are looking at here is “had”. Since the first day our moms and dads take us out to meet other kids of our age we start to make friends. As we go though our school years we get more and more friends. We move, start working, we meet even more friends.

Now there are people out there who like to get things started, not in a bad way, but they are the type of person who will be the first to call and say, “ Let’s all meet at…”. Guess what? I have tried to be that person years ago and well let’s say it’s not for me. Oh I do try to be that person to this day, but I just can’t. I don’t know way but I have always been happy just waiting. If nothing is going on, fine. If there is, fine. Is that bad?

As I have gotten older my friends from school have faded away. Oh there’s one guy I still talk to about 1 or 2 times a year but it’s not the same. All of the other have gone on to start families, have moved out of the area, started there life. And I’m sure I have pissed off a few of them and that’s why they stoped calling. Does this hurt? Not for me. And yes, I’m an a## hole. I know I am and sometimes I just don’t care. You see, sometimes I get very tired of this whole PC world and just want to say “F### You and every thing you stand for” and no I don’t say it aloud, but to myself.

I guess what I’m getting to in this post is a question. Is it OK to let your friends go from time to time? We meet new people every day. Could one of them be your new BFF?
The friends I have today, right now, are the best friends I have had in a very long time. They are there for me and more, they are there for my family.

All I want to say is thank God for them.

Not sure why, maybe it’s all that is going on but more and more I am getting these feelings that I’m not doing anything right. No matter what I do, or what I try, even if I think it’s right someone ALWAYS points out that I’m wrong. Is this because I have hit an age in my life where the gray matter just falling out of my head.

I’m also finding my self not caring about things as much. Now my wife of almost 13 years has told me from day one ” don’t sweat the small stuff ” well I think that day is coming. And I’m not going to welcome it as I’m at that point now where not sweating the small stuff to me is not care about anything or any one.
This is not a feeling I like, but it seems to me that’s what some people want, so that is what they are going to get.

I look that my family and they are the ones that keep me going, my family. The 4 of us. I never had a whole family as a kids and I don’t want them to go though all the shit I did as a kid. Parts of my like I would never change, parts.

From now on, when any one ask me how I’m doing, they’ll all get the same answer “ I’m fine ”.
That’s all, no more bitching, no more of anything. And know you why?
Because I’m not sweating the small stuff.

In the passed 2 week I have had my foot the size of a 16″ softball and so painful it hurt just to have air on it.
I missed 3 days of work, and some of the meds I was put on made me even more sick and in bed for an extra few days. For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, it’s gout. Check it out if you’er a gut over 35.

I guess I’m writting about because this was the most painful attack I have ever had. There is one thing that helped me more then anything and that was my wife. Now I’m not writting this to kiss up to her, she knows about this site but I don’t think she has ever read any thing on it. I just want to say to everyone and any one that reads this ” Thank God for the love of a great woman, Thank you Sam! ”

Do you check the same sites every day? Most people I know have a few site outside of there own blogs, twitter, gmail and may be a few others that they check every day.
For me, it’s Woot @ www.woot.com Now if you are one of a hand full of people that don’t know about this site, they sell one thing for one day or until it sells out. which ever comes first. Today is a great day for those of us wooters, it’s a WOOT OFF. That’s when they sell one idea after another for 24 to 48 hours.
You need to check this out. We have gotten so many gift on a woot off it has cut our shopping in half around the holidays.
