On my hour plus drive in to work today I was listening to Steve Dahl. Let me start by saying that you can find Steve on Jack-FM 104.3 in Chicago and on line.
Today Steve was talking to Pat “Deep Dish” Bertoletti of Chicago. Now Pat can eat. And no he’s not 1000 lbs. Pat enters eating contests. Check out the I.F.O.C.E. (International Federation of Competitive Eating) web site to see Pat’s Bio.
Steve was talking about the next contest that Pat was going to. Now I always thought that these guys (and gals) only ate thing like pizza, hot dogs and hot peppers. Well this one was with asparagus. Not to go into to much detail it’s in Stockton, CA on April 26th, 2008. Here is the site with all the info.
If you want to hear Steve’s interview with Pat download his podcast, and here’s a link to Steve’s blog. Check it out and good luck to Pat, your Chicago eating hero.
Thanks for checking in.

Well as some of you may know I got the one thing that no one ever wants to see. The Blue Screen of Death aka BSOD. Now it had been some time since I had one hit my home PC’s (and yes, any good geek has more then one) so it was a little shocking to see it Friday night. First thing Saturday (and I mean first thing as I couldn’t sleep) I started searching the internet for an answer, some help any thing. Well I did get some information for the error “page_fault_in_nonpage_area”. So I started trying the few things I did find, but nothing helped. So at 8:30am I check out Dell’s site. Now on a side note. 3 weeks ago I got an email from Dell telling me my warranty will expire on April 20th. Yes that’s right, it now is the 19th and so you can see why I was a little worried. Well I will not give you the blow by blow of the on-line chat (1hour) and the test they had me run, which took until 2pm to finish. Oh and they did check back with me every hour. Now at 2pm they want to see if the OS would reinstall. and guess what they said. ” You know this will delete EVERYTHING on your hard drive? ” Really? No S##T. I think most people know that. So after a few extra words of disappointment they said they would send me a new hard drive. Now let me point out a few more things. Everything I read about this error, there was 2 fixes for it, and I read the same thing in about 5 different places, is that if you tst the memory and it still doesn’t work you need to place the hard drive.
Let me finish by saying that I like Dell. All my PC’s are Dell and if I had to buy a new PC tomorrow, for the price, you can’t beat Dell.
Let me know what you think and thanks for stopping by.

lets get started by thanking lingo (sorry thats mr lingo) for the chance to voice my opinion on some things, I will be chimming in on occations about the things that honk me off on the highways and byways of the greater chicagoland area. All right here we go my first rant is PEOPLE DRIVING WITH NO AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE!!!!!!!!! I thought it was a state law that you had to have it but for the second time in 4 years I was struck by a vehicle with no car insurance and my insurance has to pay the bill this is my work truck and i was out of work until it gets fixed , this also doesn’t make the misses very happy either, these people need to be held responsable for their actions and pay for the damages and everthing that the insurance companies are charging us a arm and a leg for. Imagine if everybody followed the rules what a wonderful place this would be? thanks again lingo
